About the Department
Located in Sanford, NC, Carolina Trace Fire Department has been serving Lee County residents since the original charter in 1979. With over 30 firefighters on our roster, we strive to provide the utmost in training so that we can respond to emergency situations swiftly and provide the best community outcomes. We offer many services to the community, including carseat fit checks, no-cost smoke alarms and installation and numerous community education programs.
Meet the Executive Officers
Chief Chris Meyers
Chief Meyers is celebrates nearly 20 years as a full-time career firefighter. He has a Bachelor's in Fire and Emergency Services Administration and 7 years as an executive officer. Fun fact: His CTFD employee number is 001. Yes, he's been here longer than anyone else!
Fire Dog Zoey
Zoey is a proud therapy dog who also helps with community fire prevention initiatives by teaching kids about fire safety. Once a sad pup at the shelter, she was rescued by Chief Meyers and has excelled at obedience and therapy training.

Firefighters
We have over thirty firefighters, EMT and Paramedics on our roster who respond to fires, car accidents and medical calls at all hours of the day and night. Without them, we couldn't do what we do. They love what they do and the community has been changed by these brave folks. Thank you!

Carolina Trace Country Club boasts two 18-hole golf courses designed by famed golf course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr. The Country Club also has a restaurant, bar and Pro Shop.
