Farewell to
Chief Chris Meyers

We wish Chief Chris Meyers all the best as he departs Carolina Trace FD to join Alamance Community FD as their new Chief. Chief is celebrating his 20th year at CTFD and has been instrumental in shaping the dept into what it is today. In fact, he was the first paid employee at CTFD and his employee number is 001! Chief has served as an executive officer for eight years, and is known to not be quick to anger and keeps a level head in difficult situations. He leads by example, both on and off duty and he is a firefighters’ chief, something that is very uncommon these days. During his time as chief, Meyers negotiated a contract with First Health to base their ambulance at the station, boosting the level of service for the community and decreasing response time in emergencies. In addition, he lowered the fire insurance rate for the community by helping the department achieve a lower ISO rating with the state inspection. Though his strategic plan he was able to secure funds for sprinkler systems and 24/7 staffing at the station, while pushing the station to be prepared for the future and growth of the community. While we will miss Chief Meyers, we know he has set the dept up for success. Thank you for 20 years of service, Sir!

Meet the Interim Chief, Robbie Wilkins!

Interim Chief Robbie Wilkins celebrates twenty years in the fire service and is currently a Captain at Spout Springs FD and is working towards his Master's Degree in Fire Administration. A hard worker who is dedicated to fire safety, Chief Wilkins will help lead the search for Carolina Trace's permanent Chief. We are grateful he is able to fill the Chief's boots in the interim! Thank you for your service.

While the staff at Carolina Trace FD may change, our mission is still the same, and we promise you the best in emergency services.
